| It is a frequent complication of diabetes. autonomic neuropathy: A disease of the nerves rhat usually affects the internal organs, including the cardiovascular system, the digestive tract, and the bladder. The affected nerves function automatically and so are not under voluntary control. beta cell: A type of cell produced in the pancreas that produces and releases insulin, a hormone that controls the level of glucose in the blood. blood glucose: The main sugar manufactured by the body from carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. |
| Recent studies also suggest that omega-3s slow the progression of plaque accumulation in women who have diabetes and coronary artery disease. The ability of omega-3 fatty acids to significantly reduce the risk of sudden cardiac death—by 45 percent—was demonstrated in the GISSI Prevention study, in which more than eleven thousand patients participated. |

Don't get me wrong; I am in no way saying that Glucotor is a cure for diabetes -- merely that Phase I clinical results indicate that the precise combination of natural ingredients found in Glucotor appear worthy of closer examination.

| These results are equal to or better than diabetes prescription drugs, yet without the sky-high cost and the risk of extreme side effects that go along with such drugs. Many diabetes drugs severely harm the liver. Look up the history of Rezulin if you want to see how dangerous these drugs can be. That one drug, which was reluctantly pulled off the market years ago after being prescribed to millions, probably killed 10,000 or more Americans and permanently damaged the livers of one hundred thousand people. |

In a large study, almost two of every three people with diabetes were deficient in vitamin D. In another study, 15 percent of obese patients were deficient in vitamin D. The reason, according to Anastassios G. Pittas, M.D., of the Tufts-New England Medical Center, is that vitamin D is stored in fat cells, away from other tissues that need it. A three-year study by Pittas found that taking 700 IU of vitamin D, plus 500 mg of calcium, led to smaller increases in fasting blood sugar, compared with people given placebos. |

Now, of course, you know that this is complete nonsense, but it's the same logic that says milk prevents diabetes. It is a replacement activity. In the same way, people who are drinking milk aren't drinking carbonated, sugary beverages nearly as much, so of course they are not going to have a high rate of diabetes.
I hate to be the one to have to point this out, but what happened to critical thinking skills in our society? Aren't scientists supposed to be scientific? Aren't journalists supposed to ask the basic fundamental questions about these stories before they report them as fact? |

Sitting around doing nothing is no excuse, and it will directly lead you to full-blown diabetes. (Diabetics are really good at making excuses. I know, I used to be pre-diabetic. I would find every reason in the world to avoid physical exercise.)
The second thing people can do is give up all foods that promote diabetes. This means foods that contain ingredients like refined white sugar, sucrose, corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup, dextrose, white flour, enriched flours, and so on. So that means getting rid of all ice cream, cakes, cookies, sweets, desserts, candy bars, etc. |

The name "diabetes" is meaningless to the average person. The disease should be called Excessive Sugar Disease, or ESD. If it were called Excessive Sugar Disease, the solution to it would be rather apparent; simply eat less sugar, drink fewer soft drinks and so on. But of course that would be far too simple for the medical community, so the disease must be given a complex name such as diabetes that puts its solution out of reach of the average patient.
Another disease that is named after its symptom is cancer. |

Health and Nutrition Secrets That Can Save Your Life
When it comes to cows' milk and diabetes, the bottom line is that the scientific evidence clearly shows a causal relationship between the two. It offers yet another reason why consumers should consider avoiding cows' milk entirely. But there are still other reasons discussed below.
Before we get to the hormones and chemicals used in the production of cows' milk, it is useful to examine the heavy use of cows' milk in human babies. |

To reverse the course of diabetes, "clean the gum out of the locks," and allow the heart and blood vessels the best chance of reversing any existing blockages, there are three guidelines.
1. Set aside animal products.
2. Keep vegetable oils to a minimum.
3. Favor foods with a low glycemic index.
Now, there is no need to panic. I know this sounds like a tall order. I am going to walk you through each step to show you the whys and hows. For now, I just want you to understand the principles.

In my view, it works better than diabetes drugs. Of course, what really works best overall is to stop eating processed foods and sugar, and switch to a raw living foods diet. diabetes usually disappears within 30 - 60 days, never to return as long as you stay with the raw foods diet. There are many cures for diabetes, but the medical establishment does not want consumers to know about any of them because there's simply far too much profit to be found in the ongoing treatment of "lifetime diabetics."
This, folks, is exactly why the FDA attacks nutritional supplement companies. |

We have the power to take charge of our health, and by rediscovering the healing power of living in greater harmony with the natural foods found on our planet, we can all live lives free of diabetes. This is an epidemic that has a cure, and the cure is available right now to everyone. It’s called nutrition and exercise.”

Mike Adams: Can you give a brief summary of -- you've mentioned a few here, diabetes and acne, heart disease is mentioned in your book quite prominently -- but what other chronic diseases are, say, aggravated or even caused by chronic milk consumption?
Robert Cohen: Well, you know, that's an interesting question. Let's look at the Big Five -- in America, the number one killer is heart disease, and then we've got osteoporosis and cancer, and diabetes and asthma. We look at nations where they drink milk, we find these diseases are common. |
| You look at diabetes, you look at the New England Journal of Medicine, July 31, 1992 -- right there, you can look it up! It said that exposure to these bovine proteins, bovine serum lactobumin is a trigger for insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, and a few months later, October of '92, Scientific America talked about the dairy slogan,"Milk, it does a body good." It said, "Milk, it does a body good -- it sounds a little hollow these days. |

This "disease" (actually just a metabolic effect of massive sugar consumption combined with a lack of exercise) used to be called adult-onset diabetes, but now so many children are acquiring it that the "adult" classification seems irrelevant.
The most astonishing thing about this new trend of diabetic teens is that the parents don't think their kids are overweight! I was at a social event recently where I saw a five-year old kid who looked like a sumo wrestler. |

Or you don't develop diabetes but, instead, develop hyperinsulinism (abnormally high levels of insulin in the blood). This can cause health problems including hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, and chronic obesity, as well as high blood pressure, high levels of triglycerides, low HDL (good) cholesterol, heart disease, and possibly some cancers.
The bottom-line is that we need to balance our blood sugar levels and increase carbohydrate metabolism. And this is just what Glucotor does for you. Let's look at some more of the study results. |

The consumption of refined carbohydrates is the most frequent cause of type-ll diabetes. It is not a genetic disorder, but one brought on by lifestyle: namely, the consumption of carbohydrates combined with lack of physical exercise. Diabetics benefit greatly from a low carbohydrate diet, and many have reversed their diseases and eliminated their need for insulin altogether. This degree of transformation takes time and dedication, of course, because diabetics certainly didn't create their condition overnight, and reversing it overnight isn't possible either. |

Junk science is the norm
I could just as easily say that watching television prevents rock climbing injuries. It's true! I conducted a study looking at 5,000 people who watched a lot of television and found they had a really low rate of rock-climbing injuries. That proves it. I should issue a press release. |

I've never found the ADA to actually give beneficial nutritional advice that would help people reverse diabetes. Remember, they are funded in large part by pharmaceutical companies who would actually lose customers if people reversed their diabetic conditions. It's not a conspiracy: it's just plain old corporate greed.
If you want to reverse diabetes, and you want to know the truth about it, keep reading articles like this one, because I'm going to give it to you straight. I'm telling you that you've got a make a list of all the foods and food ingredients to avoid for the rest of your life. |
| In this third and final part, we're exploring the causes of adult-onset diabetes and how people can both prevent and even reverse diabetes by applying fundamental knowledge of how the human body deals with dietary sugars and refined carbohydrates.
This process of storing sugar as glycogen or converting it to body fat is initiated by a hormone produced by the pancreas. This hormone, of course, is called insulin. If you consume refined carbohydrates on a regular basis, your pancreas will become overstressed. |

The claims stated for milk seem to put it in the category of a drug that treats diabetes. So why doesn't the dairy industry apply for FDA approval for milk? Why don't they sell milk as a drug that you need a prescription for? After all, they say that it is an anti-diabetic drug, and next they'll say it is an anti-heart-disease drug or that it is an anti-diarrhea drug because it causes constipation.
If there was money in the human breast milk industry, and you could convince people to drink that, can you imagine all the incredible, yet true, claims that would be made about human breast milk? |

That meant that only three children in the modified-formula group developed diabetes, compared to eight in the regular-formula group. The study suggested that the cow's milk theory may well be part of the puzzle, but it was too small to be definitive, and the research team began a much larger test in 2002 involving families in 15 countries.
There were some limitations to this pilot study. First, it restricted dairy consumption only during the first several months of life. It is not clear whether later exposure, say, at 8 or 9 months of age, might put some children at risk as well. |

Stop junk food and soda advertising to children
Here's sort of another obvious one: outlaw the predatory marketing of junk foods, candy and sugary beverages to children, many of whom are already headed for a life of diabetes, heart disease and obesity. But wait: the soda companies say sugary drinks have nothing to do with obesity! And, better yet, the American diabetes Association claims there's no link between sugar and diabetes! (Not sure how they can still say that one with a straight face, but they somehow manage it. |

In addition to its ability to bind to protein molecules and act as a shield against sugar molecules, thus preventing glycation, carnosine can also stimulate enzymes and other substances to eliminate damaged, glycated protein. In these ways, carnosine helps reduce the impact of diabetic complications. When carnosine has been compared with the antiglycating drug aminoguanidine, the supplement has proved to be similarly effective, likely because it inhibits glycation earlier in the process than does the drug. |

Some research suggests that exercise increases the number of insulin receptors in IDDM.199
In Type-1 diabetics, there needs to be a little bit of attention when exercising because exercise may create an immediate release of lactic acid and glucagons, which may increase the blood sugar level, especially for those whose blood sugar levels are above 250 mg. Another danger of exercise is that if you have very low glucose while on your insulin, your body may switch to fat to get energy, and this could result in ketoacidosis. |
